Updates To XStandard Version 1.6
Enhancements To Web Services
Web Services are server-side software that comes with XStandard Pro. Web Services are used for file upload, for building image / attachment / link / code snippet libraries, and for spell checking. They are designed to ensure tight integration between XStandard and your CMS. The following improvements to Web Services in version 1.6 make that relationship more versatile and more seamless:
- XStandard now supports SOAP 1.1 and SOAP 1.2.
- Search capability has been added to Image Library and Attachment Library, and to the editor's Directory service (used to browse and import third-party data). This helps speed the authoring process by offering a faster, more efficient way of locating files and links.
- XStandard now offers an ASP.NET version of Web Services for developers working in shared hosting environments.
- Developers can now create multiple libraries to which uploaded files can be saved.
- Files uploaded through the editor can now be saved to sub-folders.
- Developers can disable "Replace existing file", used by authors when uploading a file whose name already exists.
