Support for the correct use of block quote

The new version of XStandard encourages the correct use of <blockquote> by using distinct toolbar icons that cannot be confused with indent, and by providing a CSS approach for indenting.

Support for importing "dirty" or legacy markup generated by other editors

When legacy or dirty markup created by other WYSIWYG editors is loaded into XStandard, XStandard will attempt to fix it.

A third-party gateway for inserting markup snippets

The new version of XStandard supports a new Web Service called "Directory". The Directory service acts as a gateway to third-party systems (like your CMS). It lets users browse third-party systems for content, then inserts the content, in the form of code snippets, directly into XStandard. The example below shows a ready-made, table-formatted product catalogue selection being inserted into the editor with a single mouse-click.

Other features in version 1.3

  • Ability to paste content from Word or Web page and retain structural elements like tables, lists, hyprlinks, images and semantic markup.
  • New API for programmatically inserting data into the editor at the current cursor position and for building custom toolbars.
  • Greater support for the <div> tag
  • Ability to insert content between 2 block elements
  • Support for MS Access and Delphi

See the "Features" chart for a complete listing of XStandard's features and functionality.
